1) Conferences: are tomorrow evening and Friday morning. Please note that these conferences are student centered and student led. Each time slot will be 1/2 hr long, where you will have a chance to interact with your child as they show case their work. During this time teachers will be available for conversations with students and their parents however there will be more than 1 family in the room at a time. Thank you to everyone who has signed up.

1) Needed: We are asking students to bring in a medium to large cereal boxes. We are starting a building project in inquiry and will need a cereal box each for each student. Thank you in advance:) 

2) Online Scholastic Book Orders: Went home today. You are now able to order books online through your classroom teacher. Please follow the steps below if you would like to order books for the month of March. If you could make your selection by March 16th that would be amazing. For the month of March, I will still send home the paper magazine, however, in the future if you would like a paper copy please let me know and I can send one home.

Today we had our last session with the artist in residence. During this session we began to add details with sharpies to the different items on the panels. The details are really bringing the different panels to life! Ask me about what I added details to.

Today we started to create lego number lines and worked so solve doubles and near double addition sentences. Ask me about the lego number line I created and how I used it to help me solve doubles and near doubles addition problems.

1) student led conferences: Tonight the booking system opens. Please go online and schedule a time that works best for you. I look forward to seeing you and your child at conferences.

2) Skating forms: where sent home today. Please fill out all the forms and return as soon as possible.

Today during our 3rd session with the artist in residence we began to transfer our fellow classmates drawings of trees to the different panels. We practiced our colour mixing skills and organized the trees so that the smaller ones would be in the background and the larger trees would be in the foreground. Ask me about what I learned or enjoyed doing today.

1) Skating Gym Unit: Hello Royal Oak School Parents and Guardians! Your son and/or daughter will be bringing home a letter soon telling you about our Skating Activity that will take place March 14, 15 and 16^th. We are looking for several volunteers to help with tying skates, assisting on the ice, walking with classes from the school to the outdoor rink and helping with the skate shack. We are very fortunate to have booked the KidSport skate shack and we will need a few volunteers organizing and managing the skates and helmets. Today we had our second session with the artist in residence. We practiced working with different types of painting tools. Ask me about what tools I liked and what tools I did not enjoy working with. After practicing the different painting techniques we began to paint three of the panels that are going to be used for our final piece.
